Convert cups, tablespoons, liters, gallons and cooking measures
Volume measurements are at the heart of cooking and baking. Cups, tablespoons, fluid ounces, liters, and milliliters all measure volume, but the exact amounts differ between the US, UK, and metric systems. Getting these conversions right is especially important in baking, where small measurement errors can ruin the texture and rise of baked goods.

US vs UK vs Metric Cups
A US cup is 236.588 milliliters, an Australian cup is 250 milliliters, and a UK cup (now rarely used) was 284 milliliters. When following an international recipe, knowing which cup measurement the author intended prevents under-measuring or over-measuring key ingredients. Our converters use the US cup as the default standard.
